Great storytelling is at the core of everything I do.

Hi I’m Tashika!

I work with businesses across Canada to create effective digital branding and marketing solutions. On any given day, I’m collaborating with designers and developers to create beautiful websites, directing photo shoots or developing Instagram marketing strategies for new clients. Every day is different, challenging and happy to say, oh so rewarding!

I started my career in journalism over eight years ago and earned a bachelor’s degree at Ryerson University. It’s there I began to hone my skills not only as a great storyteller but I also learned the importance of good leadership, examining things with a critical mind and gained the ability to adapt and evolve.

While I work with many recognizable names, truth be told I have a penchant for working with smaller businesses. I thrive in fast-paced environments and love getting my hands dirty to craft something I can really be proud of -- and if that something makes a positive impact on the world, even better. Coming from a family of business owners, entrepreneurship has always been a part of my life. I thoroughly understand all the highs and lows that can come with it and the importance of having good people on your side. I pride myself on being someone who is dependable, always up for a challenge and not afraid to buckle down to make things work.

If you peruse my social media, you’ll probably see a lot of #womeninbusiness, but even before such clever hashtags were ubiquitous, I’ve been an avid supporter of women’s rights and women-led businesses and initiatives. In 2012, I was the editor-in-chief of the top women-in-business magazine, The Women's Post, and then in 2015, I launched my own award-winning publication The Virago magazine. Over the years, I’ve had the opportunity to interview top female entrepreneurs in the country including Julie Payette, Alicia Woods (Dragon’s Den!), and over a dozen other amazing women.

In my spare time, I’m a career mentor for the United Nations “Building Young Entrepreneurs” program and in the summer months, I run branding and marketing workshops for PrettyGirlsWork Inc.

If you’re interested in listening to candid interviews with women in business who are driving change, making an impact and helping to create a better and more equitable world then check out my podcast “The Virago” here! See you there ;)
